Post-graduation status
Graduates of Second Chance have chosen the following post-secondary paths:
- entered the workforce with plans to continue education
- enrolled in the Wisconsin Technical College System
- transitioned into 4-year college systems
- enlisted in the military
- entered adult apprenticeship programs
When observing the overall population of high school students, one must admit
that the one-size-fits-all model does not work. A significant group of students
is not being properly served in the traditional college-prep educational track;
neither should they be assigned to programs designed for students with
disruptive or cognitive/behavioral issues.
When evaluating the return-on-investment of community tax dollars one must
consider the scope, breadth and value of learning and academic achievement.
Second Chance achievement can be measured by both on-going assessments and the
actions and accomplishments of the graduates. Second Chance students gain skills
and knowledge which encourage them to become productive citizens of their
communities.
“Without Second Chance, our son would not have
graduated with his class, if at all.”

“Our son is actually excited about what he is
learning at Generac. He’s involved with the learning... Marty and the rest of
Generac do a wonderful job of helping the kids apply what they are learning so
they understand the value of education.”
